DESTINATION.

Short Term Goal

In the next 2-5 years I would like to accomplish many things. I plan to continue developing the ability to make critical decisions and refine my clinical practice skills in caring for critical pediatric patients. I hope to join the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). Most of all, I hope to find an area near where I live to give back. Volunteering has been something that has always been important to me. Partnering with a community program where I can donate, both my time and nurse skill, would help me form relationships, hear stories, and learn more about the people I now serve as a new graduate nurse. Long Term Goal

There are so many different career opportunities in the nursing field that I am thrilled knowing that I can be a life long learner. In ten years, I plan to have taught nursing students as a clinical instructor for a university. I hope to have attained a masters degree of  some kind, dependent on where my years of practice lead me. I will have become a regular member of AACN and will be proactive in advancing nursing practice through attending conferences. For my volunteer work, I hope to have made at least one large contribution, such as including more nursing volunteers, finding a local partnership, or increasing the scope of people they are able to serve.
